The Sulcata tortoise is the third largest land turtle in the world.

It lives exclusively on land and cannot swim in water.

Instead, they have strong legs that allow them

to walk for long periods of time and handle rocks.

Unlike sea turtles, they can hide their head and legs inside their carapace.

As they get older, they develop a growth line

on their carapace that shows how much they have grown.

They have very strong gums and jaws, so they can easily crush hard fruit.
